Position Summary
Responsible for installation, removal, preventative maintenance and repair of all plant fixed exchangers, piping, filters, vessels, towers, agitators, and overall general maintenance activities. Providing detailed written inspection reports, accurately communicate with the supervisor about work progress, technical concerns, and questions. Maintaining legible/accurate records of equipment inspections & preventative maintenance as assigned. May be responsible for supervising and training other craftsmen and working on various jobs without direct supervision. Embraces positive change and is committed to advancing their understanding of the refinery systems by a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and training. Promotes safety, quality and will support efforts to increase the reliability of this facility.

Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Journeyman Boilermaker/Pipefitter who has completed an industrial mechanics technical training program or Journeyman program preferred
- Official apprenticeship qualification/certification from a nationally recognized apprenticeship training program or NCCER Certification preferred
- 5 years’ boilermaker/pipefitter experience required
- 5 years’ experience in a refinery environment preferred
- Working knowledge of all types of piping, exchangers, equipment to include forklift, carry deck crane and manlift
- Must be proficient with the use of precision tools/torque, pneumatic impacts, etc.
- Functional knowledge of equipment inspection requirements during overhauls and preventative maintenance.
- Possess a basic understanding of P&ID’s
- Must be able to review and follow maintenance and repair manuals, work orders, procedures, drawings, and schematics
- Ability to examine, measure, and identify defects to ensure conformance with equipment specifications and repair procedures
- Experience safely working with the hazards and using the associated proper PPE
- Must be able to work with multiple projects and/or issues from a variety of sources
- Must be able to provide and receive directions from others
- Ability to use a computer for data entry to include work order processing, Microsoft Excel/Word, etc. preferred
- Proficiency in basic mathematics required
- Fluent in English, oral and written required
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs
- Perform all duties in compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental, applicable government regulations, and industry best practices
- Participate in project planning including drawing updates, P&ID development, and Cause & Effects development
- Use hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks
- Set-up, prepare, and inspect worksite at start of project and clean up at end of project
- Study blueprints or manufacturer's manuals to determine correct installation or operation of equipment
- Participate in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
- Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Record repairs and maintenance preformed
- Following all Safe Work Practices during LOTO, blinding and removal and installation of equipment.
- Ability and willingness to complete detailed written inspection reports, accurately communicate with the supervisor about work progress, technical concerns and questions
- Must have the capability to adjust work schedule to meet business needs (rotating schedule is required and overtime is expected.)
