Job Summary
The Staff Pharmacist plays a critical role in delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients.
This position involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing pharmacy technicians, managing all aspects of the pharmacy, and keeping customers and patients healthy through adoption and management of patient care programs.
Main Responsibilities
- Patient Safety: Ensure the safe handling and administration of medications, maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment, and preventing errors.
- Pharmacy Professional Practice: Stay up-to-date on professional standards, adhere to regulatory requirements, and participate in ongoing education and training.
- Regulatory Requirements: Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including DEA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures, monitor patient outcomes, and continuously improve pharmacy processes.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, resolving customer complaints, and addressing concerns in a timely manner.
- Personnel Management: Lead, motivate, and develop pharmacy support staff, promoting a positive work environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage stockroom operations, and maintain accurate records.
- Financial Profitability: Contribute to the financial success of the pharmacy, managing expenses, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Loss Prevention: Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the security of medications and assets.
- Workflow Management: Streamline pharmacy operations, improving efficiency and productivity.
Key Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy License in the state of employment.
- Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).
- Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
