Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions for critical and acute care patients.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and providing medication information to patients and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate medication records and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Utilize aseptic technique when compounding sterile preparations to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes through effective medication management.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and organizing pharmaceuticals within the pharmacy.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of pharmacy practices, medical terminology, and new medications.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required; state licensure may also be necessary.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred, particularly in areas such as IV infusion or critical care.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is an advantage.
