Job Summary

Duties
- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide assistance as needed.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions.
- Maintain stock levels by organizing merchandise on shelves and restocking items as necessary.
- Assist in inventory management, including conducting stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide product recommendations.
- Utilize retail math to assist customers with pricing inquiries and discounts.
- Support sales initiatives by promoting current promotions and upselling products.
- Ensure a clean and organized store environment, including tidying up displays and aisles.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Proficiency in operating a POS system and handling cash transactions accurately.
- Basic understanding of retail math concepts for pricing and inventory management.
- Previous experience in sales or customer service, particularly in a grocery store environment, is preferred but not required.
- Ability to supervise junior staff or assist in training new employees when necessary.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer calls or inquiries professionally.
- A proactive approach to selling products while ensuring customer satisfaction remains a priority.
