CRUSHER OPERATOR

The Earthwork Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for assisting the Crusher Operator Manager by observing the operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.

Total Compensation

$22.00 to $28.00 per hour with potential for overtime

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate loader to load the crushing equipment.
• Moves controls to start, stop, or adjust machinery and equipment that crushes, grinds, or blends materials.
• Records data from operations, testing, and production on specified forms.
• Examines materials, or products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
• Weighs or measures materials, and/or products at specified intervals to ensure conformance to requirements.
• Cleans, adjusts and maintains equipment, using hand tools.
• Notifies Crusher Operator Manager of needed repairs.
• Sets mill gauges to specified fineness of grind.
• Rejects defective products and readjusts equipment to eliminate problems.
• Safely operating equipment as needed.
• Understanding and carrying out instructions.
• Maintaining records.
• Maintaining positive working relationships.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good safety history and a willingness to engage and contribute to ongoing safe work practices, including the use of PPE, with the ability to safely perform physical and manual work.
• Top-notch communication skills, including the ability to effectively, respectfully, and positively interact with managers, supervisors, team members, and subcontractors.
• Dependability and reliability with a good attendance record and the willingness and ability to adapt to scheduling needs as required to accommodate company and project needs.

Education and/or Experience

• Required: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3 years Crusher experience (preferred) and 3 years Construction experience (preferred)
• Knowledge: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time on various terrain, including slopes and uneven ground, and regularly push, pull, shovel, bend to pick up, and lift items 25 to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Outside work exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
