  • Make sure meat preparation and storage areas are tidy and follow health rules.
  • Get rid of meat scraps properly, following safety rules.
  • Monitor fridges to keep meat at safe temperatures.
  • Refill cleaning products and safety gear for the team.
  • Assist with moving meat and getting packaging ready.
  • Wash the tools and surfaces used by butchers.
  • Keep meat displays looking nice and clean.
  • Practice good handwashing and sanitation.
  • Check meat for quality and freshness, and let supervisors know about any issues.
  • Talk with the team about cleaning schedules and what supplies are needed.
  • Maintain records of cleaning and sanitation as required.
  • Adhere to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene rules.
  • Requirements :

  • No experience, No Problem
  • Physical Demands :

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
  • Stockers are often required to lift heavy boxes, containers, and pallets, sometimes weighing 20 to 50 pounds or more. This includes items like frozen meats, dairy products, and other refrigerated goods, which can be awkwardly shaped or bulky.
  • Stockers frequently need to reach high shelves or bend down to the lower shelves in order to arrange or retrieve stock. This can involve stretching, bending, squatting, or climbing ladders, all of which can strain muscles if done repetitively.
  • Stockers often use carts or pallet jacks to move stock, requiring strength to push or pull heavy items, sometimes through crowded aisles.
  • Restocking shelves can require repetitive motion, such as placing products on shelves, scanning, and organizing. Over time, this can lead to strain on the hands, wrists, shoulders, and back.
  • A stocker is typically on their feet for the majority of their shift, which can lead to fatigue and discomfort, especially if the work involves long hours without sufficient breaks.
  • Stockers must have good hand-eye coordination to handle products carefully while organizing or placing them on shelves in an orderly manner.
  • Environmental Demands :

  • The frozen and chilled sections are kept at low temperatures to preserve the products.
  • The frozen and chilled areas can also have higher humidity due to the condensation of moisture in the air, which can make the environment feel colder and more uncomfortable. It may also increase the risk of slips and falls due to wet floors.
  • Stockers may be exposed to cleaning products or chemicals used for sanitizing the frozen and chilled display areas. Prolonged exposure may irritate the skin, eyes, or respiratory system if proper precautions are not taken.
  • Grocery store environments often use bright overhead lighting. For stockers, this can sometimes lead to eyestrain, especially if they are working in refrigerated areas with intense or harsh lighting.
  • There may be high noise levels due to refrigerators or freezers operating, as well as the sounds of other workers or equipment like forklifts. This constant noise can contribute to fatigue and distractions, making it harder to concentrate on tasks.
  • As frozen goods are stocked, condensation and melted water can accumulate on the floor, making it slippery and hazardous for stockers to navigate. The potential for slips and falls increases in cold storage areas, especially when floors are not properly maintained.
  • If you're interested in being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today!!
