Role and Responsibilities:
Are you passionate about ensuring a top-notch dining experience? RW Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Meals on Wheels Café Professional to join our dynamic team! As a Café Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the café, while promoting food safety, health standards, and a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Oversee the café's day-to-day operations during business hours, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and safety are met at all times.
- Monitor food safety protocols, take food temperatures, and ensure all meals are prepared and served at the correct temperature.
- Greet all guests warmly as they enter the café, providing a positive and professional dining experience.
- Lead the service of meals, ensuring that each meal is served according to established nutrition, health, and sanitation guidelines.
- Check lunch reservations, ensuring all pre-ordered meals are correctly prepared and organized.
- Accurately count and document meal donations, complete necessary paperwork, and follow up with clients or donors as needed.
- Assist in meal preparation, setting tables, and washing dishes after the meal service.
- Support miscellaneous tasks as required to ensure the café operates smoothly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of (1) year working in a cafeteria, restaurant, or similar setting (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring the highest standards for meal preparation and service. (Preferred)
- Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of guests, volunteers, and team members.
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and complete paperwork, ensuring all reservations, donations, and records are up-to-date.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with others to ensure all duties are completed efficiently.
Physical Demands:
- Reasonable accommodations can be made.
- May lift up to 40lbs regularly.
- Reaching in all directions, stooping, crouching, bending, walking, and twisting.
- Remaining on your feet for extended periods.
Environmental Demands:
- This position is primarily based in a café environment, which can be bustling and fast-paced during meal service hours. You will be interacting with staff, volunteers, and guests in a communal, public-facing setting.
- The café may experience moderate to high noise levels during peak hours, especially during meal service. The ability to work efficiently in a noisy environment is essential.
- As the role involves working in a kitchen and dining area, temperatures may vary. You will be exposed to cooler conditions in the storage areas, as well as warmer conditions near cooking equipment and serving areas.
- You may be exposed to cleaning agents, detergents, and other chemicals used for sanitizing kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food preparation surfaces.
- The role requires working in areas with kitchen equipment, hot surfaces, and sharp objects. Proper use of safety protocols and equipment is essential to ensure a safe working environment.
- The café may have tight or confined spaces, particularly in storage or preparation areas. There may be occasions when you will need to navigate through crowded spaces while carrying or moving items.
