  • Help sort and move products from delivery trucks to the store shelves.
  • Put products on shelves where they belong and make sure items are easy to find.
  • Move older products to the front of the shelves and place new items behind them to keep products fresh.
  • Check for and take off any expired products from the shelves.
  • Make sure your work area is clean and safe.
  • Use safety gear and follow safety guidelines to stay safe at work.
  • Get to know our products to help customers better.

Qualifications:

  • Work well with others and be supportive.
  • Notice when products need to be moved or replaced.
  • Follow safety rules and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

  • No experience needed

Physical Demands:

  • Stockers regularly lift heavy boxes, crates, or bags, often with awkward shapes or bulk, requiring careful handling to prevent injury.
  • Stockers may need to reach high shelves or bend down to stock low shelves, using stretching, squatting, or ladders/step stools.
  • Stockers use carts or pallet jacks to move large quantities of stock, requiring physical strength and coordination.
  • Stocking tasks, such as placing items on shelves or scanning barcodes, involve repetitive movements, which can strain wrists, shoulders, or back.
  • Stockers often spend long hours standing or walking, leading to leg and back fatigue or swelling in the feet/legs.
  • Stockers need good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as organizing products or using barcode scanners.
  • Reasonable accommodations are provided to support stockers with disabilities, ensuring they can perform their tasks safely and effectively.

Environmental Demands:

  • Stockers may experience temperature variations near refrigerated sections, loading docks, or outdoor storage areas, though they typically don't work in extreme cold.
  • Humidity levels can vary, especially in sections like produce, dairy, or meat, making the environment potentially slippery or uncomfortable.
  • Grocery stores can be noisy, with sounds from employees, carts, forklifts, and equipment, which can be distracting or cause fatigue over time.
  • Bright fluorescent lighting can be uncomfortable for stockers, especially with long hours, and may contribute to eye strain in poorly lit sections.
  • Floors may be slippery due to spills, water from refrigerated sections, or product breakage, requiring caution to avoid trips and falls.
  • Stockers may encounter cleaning products or chemicals, which can cause irritation if safety guidelines aren't followed.
  • Stockers often work in narrow aisles or crowded environments, increasing the risk of accidents during busy times.
