Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality respiratory care services to patients of all age groups in various settings. The therapist will deliver services efficiently and in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with the department's standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff.
- Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record.
- Serve as a resource to the medical staff for respiratory care.
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitor patient progress.
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory care to patients across different age groups.
- Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and documentation.
- Respond as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or hospital management.
Requirements:
- Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.
- Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy procedures and techniques.
- Ability to interpret relevant information to assess and address patient needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and healthcare teams.
Education and Certifications:
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.
- Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- BLS through AHA.
- ACLS through AHA.
- RRT or CRT.
