**Job Overview**
CWS Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate pediatric intensive care nurse specialist to join our team as a traveling registered nurse. This opportunity will allow you to utilize your skills and experience in a dynamic and challenging environment while exploring new locations.
As a pediatric critical care travel nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children in a fast-paced PICU setting. Your expertise and knowledge will be essential in managing complex care needs, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and assisting physicians in critical care procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients in the PICU
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions, prescribed medical treatments, and changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians in the examination of pediatric patients and in performing diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of pediatric patients, observe for any changes, and intervene as necessary
- Administer prescribed medications, including pain management, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a pediatric setting (preferably in a PICU)
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services in a PICU environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of pediatric patients and their families
