General Description :
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a Stepdown / Telemetry unit to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from intermediate to complex. This role requires the ability to monitor and assess patients with moderate to severe medical conditions who are transitioning from ICU to a lower level of care.
Essential Responsibilities :

Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of stepdown patients, including those requiring cardiac, respiratory, and post-surgical monitoring.
Monitors patients' cardiovascular and respiratory status, ensuring continuous assessment of vital signs and arrhythmias.
Administers medication as prescribed, including IV medications and continuous infusions, and observes patient responses.
Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions, blood products, and telemetry systems.
Performs routine nursing interventions, including wound care, catheter care, and assisting with respiratory treatments.
Responds promptly to changes in patient condition, providing necessary interventions to stabilize the patient.
Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions, treatments, and physician orders, ensuring accuracy in patient records.
Provides patient and family education regarding care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Makes appropriate referrals to interdisciplinary teams for further patient care needs.
Delegates non-nursing tasks to support staff, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
