Trauma ICU RN - Nights (Travel Position)
Note : This manager wants to make sure that candidates have actual experience working in a Trauma 1 ICU unit (not just a facility that is Trauma 1). Travel experience is also required in this unit. Candidates must be willing to work nights. This position is for nights only.
General Description :
Under general supervision, the Trauma ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill trauma patients in a Trauma 1 ICU setting. This position is for night shifts only, and requires candidates to have actual experience in a Trauma 1 ICU unit. Travel experience is also a requirement.
Essential Responsibilities :

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of critically ill trauma patients.
Monitor and assess vital signs, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and other essential nursing interventions.
Administer medications, manage intravenous (IV) therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments as required.
Provide competent and compassionate care, ensuring accurate documentation of patient status and responses to treatment.
Assist with diagnostic procedures and minor treatments under the direction of a physician.
Interact with patients and families, explaining care plans and addressing concerns.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and timely patient care.
Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff and assist in training when necessary.
General Responsibilities :
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience :
1 year of experience in a Trauma ICU setting.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques in a high-pressure ICU environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Some computer skills for documentation and data entry.
Preferred Skills & Experience :
Previous travel nursing experience in a Trauma ICU setting.
Education :
Required : Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Preferred : Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board-approved program.
Required Certifications & Licensure :
Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
CWS Health Job ID #23. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
