General Description :
Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor / preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology services to adult and / or pediatric patient populations. The goal is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and / or diseases.
Essential Responsibilities :
Provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions in a variety of care settings, including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic / urgent care centers, and remote statewide outreach clinics.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to identify and implement actions to achieve desired clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations.
Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and / or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and / or surgical procedures following established scope of practice guidelines.
Conducts post-procedure reviews with or without preceptor to ensure all required elements are completed, documented, and the technical quality meets department protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
Transfers images and data to archival systems, enters technical data / findings, and prepares the study for reporting by the physician.
Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance according to manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care and treatments.
Required Skills & Experience :
Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and / or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics (specific to assigned specialty).
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions, and demonstrate consistent and dependable attendance.
Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
Ability to maintain accurate records and work effectively with names, numbers, and codes.
Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
Discretion in handling confidential information and exercising sound judgment.
Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
Ability to understand various operations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work and communicate professionally, courteously, and compassionately with staff, patients, and families.
Strong initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and attention to detail.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and / or radiologic technologies, and associated terminology.
Ability to apply specialty theory and techniques under general supervision.

Required Education :
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty, OR
Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
Preferred Education :
Associate’s degree or higher.
Required Certifications & Licensure :
Must meet eligibility requirements for MRI Certification, to be achieved within 12 months of hire.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
CWS Health Job ID #19. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
