General Description :
Under general supervision, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services for patients of all age groups in a variety of settings served by the Respiratory Therapy Department. The therapist will deliver services efficiently and in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality patient care in alignment with the department’s standards.
Essential Responsibilities :
Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff.
Document treatment information and patient’s treatment responses in the computerized medical record.
Serve as a resource to the medical staff for respiratory care.
Perform both invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitor patient progress.
Provide age-appropriate respiratory care to patients across different age groups.
Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and documentation.
Respond as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
General Responsibilities :
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or hospital management.
Experience :
Two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy procedures and techniques, as well as the operation and repair of respiratory equipment.
Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care, and age-appropriate patient care.
Ability to interpret relevant information to assess and address patient needs.
Ability to work effectively under stress and manage multiple tasks in high-pressure situations.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and staff.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and healthcare teams.
Basic computer skills.
Education :
Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.
License(s) / Certification(s) / Registration(s) Required :
Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
BLS through AHA
ACLS through AHA
RRT or CRT
CWS Health Job ID #13. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
