Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Life Sciences organization. The ideal candidate will facilitate agile processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a GxP environment. This role combines traditional Scrum Master responsibilities with specific expertise in life sciences development processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Core Scrum Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Remove impediments and blockers for the team
- Ensure Scrum practices are understood and effectively implemented
- Coach the team on agile principles and self-organization
- Track and measure team velocity and metrics
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain and update team boards and tracking tools
Life Sciences-Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure agile practices align with GxP requirements
- Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance
- Support audit preparation and responses
- Integrate compliance requirements into sprint planning
- Facilitate risk assessment activities
- Ensure quality gates are incorporated into sprints
- Support validation documentation requirements
- Maintain traceability of requirements
- Coordinate with Clinical Operations teams
- Align with Quality Assurance processes
- Interface with Regulatory Affairs
- Collaborate with Data Management teams
- Oversee creation of required documentation
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3 years as a Scrum Master in biotech or pharma
- Expertise in clinical data projects and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Safe Agile
- Proficiency in agile frameworks and tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Experience with GxP compliance and FDA/EMA regulations
- Track record of successful project delivery in regulated environments
- Knowledge of clinical development processes and terminology
- Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies
- Familiarity with validation processes and documentation requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools
- History of coaching teams through agile transformation
- Experience facilitating remote/hybrid team collaboration
- Understanding of SDLC in pharmaceutical/biotech context
- Proven track record of stakeholder management across multiple organizational levels
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and SOPs
