Position Overview:
We are looking for a friendly and passionate Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee beverages, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers, and providing exceptional service. This position requires a strong knowledge of coffee drinks, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Coffee and Beverages: Make a variety of coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and brewed coffee, ensuring high-quality standards and consistency.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take their orders, and provide information on the menu. Offer recommendations based on customer preferences and ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the coffee station, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and sanitized throughout the shift.
- Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle cash and credit card transactions, and provide correct change and receipts.
- Beverage Customization: Customize orders according to customer preferences, including adjusting milk, syrups, and other ingredients.
- Restock Supplies: Monitor and restock coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other necessary supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Customer Interaction: Build rapport with regular customers, remembering their preferences, and provide a personalized experience.
- Ensure Quality: Ensure every coffee beverage is made with care and served with excellent presentation.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with team members to provide fast and efficient service, especially during busy hours.
- Follow Health and Safety Guidelines: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including cleaning equipment and maintaining safety protocols.
- Other Duties: Assist with additional tasks as needed, such as opening/closing duties, taking inventory, or cleaning.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods, espresso machines, and other coffee-related equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to stay organized under pressure.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making accurate change.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be flexible with work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
