Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Bartender to join our high-end, seasonal restaurant in Shelter Island Heights, NY. As a Bartender, you will provide exceptional service to guests in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment. Our menu features a refined selection of New American cuisine and craft cocktails, and we are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of mixology and coastal cocktails. Previous bartending experience is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a warm, friendly manner, and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit.
- Prepare and serve craft cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages with precision, following recipes and guest preferences.
- Maintain an organized and clean bar area, ensuring the bar is fully stocked with necessary ingredients, garnishes, and supplies.
- Check identification to verify the legal drinking age of customers and adhere to all alcohol service regulations.
- Upsell premium liquors, wines, and cocktails, encouraging guests to try new or featured drinks.
- Keep track of inventory, monitor supplies, to ensure the bar is always well-stocked.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure a seamless flow of service and that guests are satisfied with their orders.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, process payments accurately, and provide change or receipts as necessary.
- Ensure all drinks are served according to company standards, with proper garnishes and presentation.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining the bar area, including countertops, glassware, and equipment, to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar for each shift, ensuring proper stocking and cleanliness.
- Comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive experience for all guests.
Qualifications:
- Bartending experience required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service.
- Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, with the ability to create innovative and classic cocktails.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to creating a memorable experience for each guest.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy trays or boxes, and move between the bar and dining areas.
- Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to contribute to the success of the restaurant.
- Must be 18 years or older.
