We are seeking a part-time Payroll Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payroll functions for our multi-site organization.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of full-cycle payroll processing experience, be detail oriented, organized, will provide excellent customer service and demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

The hourly pay range for this position, based out of Syracuse, NY, is $20.00 - $23.00. The actual hourly rate offered will vary based on applicant’s relevant skills, education, experience, certifications and geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.

This position is located in Syracuse, NY and requires onsite work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and processing of weekly and biweekly, multi-state payroll. Including: wage & tax changes, garnishments, deductions, adjustments, etc.
  • Administration of time & attendance and time off systems.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Research and resolve payroll questions relative to time, direct deposits, garnishments, withholding questions and other related items.
  • Responsible for quarter and year-end payroll processes such as accurate issuance of W2’s, as well as preparation for new year payroll processes.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy through audit reports and make any necessary adjustments in accordance with approval process.
  • Assist and advise employees on payroll related items and escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain confidential employee files, records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to manage benefits and deductions and ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws.

What we're looking for:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience for a mid-size company.
  • Working knowledge of payroll software, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Demonstrate high level of personal and professional integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit independent judgment to plan, organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
