What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Art Teacher position at Cy-Fair Music and Arts?
Cy-Fair Music and Arts (CFMA) is the premier Fine Arts School for students of all ages in NW Houston, with a fast-growing visual arts program. We have a combined music and art faculty of nearly 40 instructors. We are currently looking for experienced substitute art instructors to teach afternoon, evening and weekend lessons and classes for children and teenagers, as needed. On occasion, our substitute teachers are invited to join our faculty on an ongoing basis and have the opportunity to grow their schedule to 20 hours a week.
We are looking for art instructors:
-excited and knowledgeable about art and artists, and can communicate that to students
-with prior classroom experience teaching students in a face-to-face setting
-understanding that each student learns and absorbs information differently
-with ability to adjust teaching style to the individual learning style of each student in order to create an enjoyable and effective learning experience
-with experience teaching painting, drawing, mixed media, clay, etc. to various age groups
-creative, imaginative, and resourceful in planning projects
-organized and dependable
-communicate clearly with students and parents
Applicants should have earned a degree in visual arts, plus experience teaching children.
Job Types: Contract
Pay: $40.00 to $45.00 /hour for group classes
Pay: $30-$35/hr for private lessons
