Mid-level Network Engineer
Houston TX or Orlando FL
Long Term
- Extensive Palo Alto firewall configuration and management experience; If they are mid-level, they must at least have an understanding of Panorama management access experience and Prisma Access; If they are senior, they must have hands-on experience configuring and managing both tools in an enterprise environment;
- Extensive Cisco switches and router configuration, management and troubleshooting experience series; this must be on the newer series (ASR 1000 or 9000 series; Nexus series; should have experience setting them up from scratch and troubleshooting issues
- Extensive SD-WAN (Silver Peak) configuration and management experience
- Azure Networking (1-3 years:); must have experience managing and troubleshooting issues as it relates to this
- Plus - Meraki (similar to Cisco; will have the ability to catch up on it fairly; preferred to have it)
- Soft skills (Team fit)
- Easy to work with; hit the ground running; able to come in; team player; great communicator; must be to jump in and do what is needed based on the needs of the team; must also be great at verbal and written communication for documentation purposes of processes and troubleshooting procedures.
Day to day responsibilities
This person will be taking tickets and driving them to resolution; for any projects, he doesn t see them have any unless he sees they have a lot of experience and knowledge in certain areas; high level tickets that will take some time to fix;
An example of a ticket could be a contractor who is blaming the network being down as database issues; he needed someone to go in and do root cause analysis to identify what the issue was.
