About the Surge Team:

We are a cross-functional development team working on high-priority projects at Federated for shorter durations of time. We integrate into existing teams and projects as needed, continuously learning new technologies and domains to provide surges of value, capability, and innovation to the projects we work on.

Job-Specific Major Activities (Essential Functions)

1 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement excellent software solutions.

2 Develop and maintain systems by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code that aligns with Federated s coding and quality standards.

3 Design and execute test cases, cycles ,and scripts for specific tests, including unit, system, regression, acceptance, performance, and capacity tests.

4 Utilize problem-solving techniques to gather requirements and diagnose system issues effectively.

5 Work independently on assigned systems and roles, using appropriate skills and tools. Identify trends and new skills to define innovative processes and solutions that meet the future demands of the team and business partners.

6 Adhere to best practices, provide accurate estimates, and deliver high-quality outputs in line with Federated s design patterns, team processes, department standards, and policies.

7 Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders (including those beyond the team and/or department) about progress and issues related to assigned systems.

8 Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance business to identify innovative tactical and strategic opportunities and implement solutions that enhance systems, processes, and services for business partners.

Minimum Position Requirements

Experience

5 years of professional experience with software development in one or more programming languages.

Technical Skills

Exceptional design and development skills. While proficiency in Spring Java is preferred, we value the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.

Strong background with SQL.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
