We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial data, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and supporting various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform financial data analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Conduct FP&A activities to assess financial performance and forecasts.
- Manage bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Assist with month-end activities, including journal entries and financial closing.
- Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Handle purchase orders and manage GL account reconciliations.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Manage billing and invoice portals to streamline operations.
- Ensure compliance with state sales tax regulations and perform reconciliations.
- Address inbox inquiries regarding financial transactions and accounts.
- Analyze gross profit margins and conduct sales analysis.
- Monitor budget variances and operating expenses for financial efficiency.
- Track inventory movement to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with outside auditing and prepare necessary documentation for the annual audit.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role in accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Experience with financial data analysis and FP&A processes.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems, preferably Epicor Prophet 21.
- Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using spreadsheets, including Vlookup and Pivot Tables.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
