Assistant Controller - Construction

Position Overview

The Assistant Controller will support the financial management and reporting activities of the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with accounting regulations, and the facilitation of financial audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support the Controller in managing daily accounting operations
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Coordinate and support external audits
• Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and dashboards
• Provide support in the implementation of accounting software and systems like Intacct, Sage, and Quickbooks
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis
• Familiarity with construction accounting is a plus
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct, or Quickbooks
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
