Position Overview
The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for ensuring that all welding activities comply with industry standards and specifications. This role involves overseeing welding processes, conducting inspections, and maintaining quality control to ensure structural integrity and safety in all welding operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections on welded structures and components.
- Ensure compliance with American Welding Society (AWS) Standards and relevant welding codes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and reports on inspection findings and quality control procedures.
- Evaluate welding procedures and production processes to ensure they meet required specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve welding-related issues and implement improvements.
- Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on safety standards and best practices.
- Review and approve welding procedures and qualifications in line with industry standards.
- Monitor procurement processes to ensure that materials and equipment meet quality requirements.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society.
- CAD experience a nice plus
- Procurement experience would be a bonus
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering, EIT, and/or PE
