Position Overview
The Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing safety protocols, and maintaining project documentation while effectively leading the field team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site operations and supervise field crews
- Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with contract specifications
- Administer contracts and manage project budgets and timelines
- Review and approve timesheets for field staff
- Track job costs and prepare progress reports for management
- Maintain a project diary documenting daily activities and incidents
- Implement and enforce safety policies to achieve low incident rates
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and standards
- Oversee earthwork, dirt-work, and remediation activities
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address any issues that arise on-site
- 6 Years' experience as a Superintendent in a civil construction environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or combination of technical training in-field experience)
- Strong background working on civil projects involving earthwork/dirt work, levees, landfills, environmental remediation, slurry walls, etc. required
- Strong knowledge of construction practices including civil engineering principles
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Experience with subcontractor coordination and contract administration
- Familiarity with project management tools and job cost tracking
- OSHA Certifications with understanding of safety regulations and experience in implementing safety programs
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain project documentation
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed
- $120,000 - $160,000 base salary depending on experience
