Position Overview
The Civil Senior Design Engineer will lead design projects in civil engineering, focusing on site civil and municipal engineering. This role involves collaboration with clients, project management, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil engineering design projects from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project goals and scope.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to ensure project viability.
- Perform hydrological and hydraulic analyses using Hydraflow Hydrographs and Hydraflow Storm Sewers.
- Develop grading, drainage, and utility design plans that meet local and state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with NJDEP, NJDOT, and local zoning ordinances throughout project phases.
- Coordinate with construction teams to provide technical support and guidance during implementation.
- Review and evaluate project designs for technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Prepare and submit permitting applications and documentation to relevant agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- EIT Certification; actively pursuing PE examination is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design.
- Proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of site design, grading, drainage, and utility design principles.
- Experience with erosion control and lighting design.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of local permitting processes and regulations including NJDEP and NJDOT.
- Ability to perform project coordination and manage multiple tasks effectively.
