The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role involves reading blueprints, performing machine setups, monitoring operations, and ensuring quality standards are met through accurate measurements and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various machining operations, including milling, drilling, and boring, while maintaining close tolerances
- Interpret blueprints, program sheets, and process instructions to determine machining requirements
- Measure finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
- Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and form materials such as metal, plastic, or composites
- Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning machines, tooling, and work areas
- Adjust machine settings and override controls to correct out-of-tolerance conditions
- Monitor machine operations and listen for irregularities, such as worn cutting tools or mechanical malfunctions
- Follow safety protocols and report equipment discrepancies to supervisors
- Utilize precision measuring tools to conduct inspections and verify dimensions
- Load, align, and secure workpieces according to setup instructions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical instructions
- Experience with CNC machining and a strong understanding of machining processes
- Basic math skills for calculating measurements and tolerances
- Familiarity with manufacturing software such as Odyssey is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods, lifting up to 45 lbs occasionally
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma, GED, or relevant trade certification preferred

Salary : $22 - $26
