Construction Project Accountant

Position Overview: The Project Accounting Associate is responsible for providing financial support for construction projects. This position is responsible for the job cost and project accounting for projects managed by the company. The Project Accounting Associate provides financial analysis and support to project managers, helping them to maintain project budgets, job costs, and other financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and track project budgets and related job cost activities.
• Assist with project set-up and cost tracking in the system.
• Assist in preparing monthly project financial reporting.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of project-related invoices.
• Review contracts and subcontracts for cost and pricing accuracy.
• Record job cost activity, track change orders, and analyze cost overruns.
• Prepare month-end close journal entries.
• Assist in the month-end close process.
• Assist with annual budget process.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reporting for management.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2 years of experience in Project Accounting, Job Cost or related field.
• Strong understanding of job costing, budgets, and invoicing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related software.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing reports.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
