Cost Accountant

We are a privately-owned industrial manufacturing machinery company. Our headquarters is in Ventura County and has been in operation for over 25 years. We have 2 manufacturing plants and growing! As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add a Cost Accountant to our team, who will report to the CFO out of our Ventura County, CA office.

Key Reponsibilities

• Create variance cost analysis to support initiatives, identify trends, risks, and areas of improvement
• Participate in standard cost process, cost of goods sold (COGs), and/or bill of materials (BOMs)
• Analyze and extract data to predict variances, metrics, and assess business operations - cost variance, price variance, labor analysis, material variance, and more
• Maintain standard costs, manage inventory valuation
• Create forecasts, budgets, financial reports for internal teams
• Review cycle count adjustments and any discrepancies, by verifying and analyzing account information ensuring inventory discrepancies are addressed and updated in the system
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field
• 2-3 years of professional cost accounting experience
• Understanding of standard cost process, cost of goods sold (COGs), and/or bill of materials (BOMs)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills
• Proficent in Excel or financial software
