We are seeking a Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function for government contracts with a focus on integrating AI technologies. This role requires strategic oversight and management of financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting to ensure the organization meets its fiscal responsibilities while leveraging innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting activities related to government contracts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
- Manage financial reporting processes, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Develop and implement budgeting strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and standards.
- Conduct cost accounting and financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Lead audit processes, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.
- Utilize AI technologies to enhance accounting processes and reporting accuracy.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies related to financial operations.
- Provide strategic planning support to senior management, focusing on financial implications of business initiatives.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development and teamwork.
- Oversee taxation strategies and compliance, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Coordinate project management efforts related to financial initiatives and audits.
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related. MBA or CPA preferred
- 8 years of professional accounting experience
- 5 years in Government, Manufacturing, SaaS-related industries, or public companies
- Proficiency in NetSuite required; experience with software implementation is a plus
- Proven track record of successful collaboration with diverse teams, preferably with international exposure
- Strong quantitative skills and a passion for leveraging data to enhance decision-making
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Experience with government contracts and/or job costing reporting preferred
- Hybrid work (2 days a week onsite in Boston)
- Competitive base of $150-175k depending on experience
