Position Overview
The Environment Health & Safety (EHS) - H&S Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with regulatory standards. The role focuses on identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and providing training to employees while fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures to reduce future occurrences.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations, including OSHA standards, and ensure compliance across the organization.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards; OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees.
