The Electrical Distribution Designer will be responsible for designing and planning electrical distribution systems that meet the needs of our clients while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a keen understanding of electrical engineering principles and a commitment to delivering high-quality designs that prioritize safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical distribution systems for various projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to determine project requirements and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations, including NESC guidelines.
- Conduct routing studies to optimize distribution layouts and minimize costs.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for construction.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on design progress and challenges.
- Review and analyze existing electrical distribution systems to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electric distribution design and planning.
- Strong knowledge of utility systems and relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with NESC standards and routing principles.
- Experience with PECO, PPL, and Met Ed systems is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
