What You Will Be Doing

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power, light safety and security systems
• Development of calculations for lighting systems and associated controls
• Preparation of detailed design documents
• Performing QA/QC of design work
• Leading project teams and serving as the primary contact for discipline for clients
• Coordinating work with other disciplines
• Overseeing and providing guidance of junior engineers
• Assisting with the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations and participation in project interviews
  
  

What You Need for this Position

• Electrical engineering knowledge: A strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, electrical codes, and industry standards is essential for designing electrical systems and calculations for lighting systems.
• Design software proficiency: Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or other similar software is necessary for creating detailed design documents.
• Project management skills: Project management skills are required for leading project teams, coordinating work with other disciplines, overseeing and providing guidance to junior engineers, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.
• Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with clients, project teams, and other disciplines.
• Attention to detail: Attention to detail is necessary for performing QA/QC of design work to ensure that all designs are of high quality and meet the requirements of the client.
• Leadership skills: Strong leadership skills are required for leading project teams and serving as the primary contact for discipline for clients.
• Client relations: Experience in developing client relations and participating in project interviews is essential for assisting with the procurement of new work.
• Industry knowledge: A good understanding of the industry trends, technology, regulations, and safety standards is crucial to develop effective and efficient electrical systems for buildings.
