Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for high voltage electrical projects, including substations and transmission lines
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and prepare accurate bid proposals
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project requirements and develop strategies for successful bidding
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and quality
- Maintain a database of historical costs and pricing for future reference in estimating processes
- Participate in bid meetings and present estimates to clients and stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to high voltage electrical work
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field
- 3 years Electrical Estimator experience on high voltage projects
- Experience with transmission lines, substations, National Grid, etc.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components, including substations and transmission
- Familiarity with estimating software such as B2W or HCSS required
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients
- Salary $140-200k (based on experience)
