Electrical Estimator - High Voltage

Position Overview

The Electrical/Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for high voltage electrical projects. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that all estimates meet project requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for high voltage electrical projects, including substations and transmission lines
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and prepare accurate bid proposals
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project requirements and develop strategies for successful bidding
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and quality
• Maintain a database of historical costs and pricing for future reference in estimating processes
• Participate in bid meetings and present estimates to clients and stakeholders
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to high voltage electrical work
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field
• 3 years Electrical Estimator experience on high voltage projects
• Experience with transmission lines, substations, National Grid, etc.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components, including substations and transmission
• Familiarity with estimating software such as B2W or HCSS required
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients
