Position Overview
The Engineering Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations of a new application my client is developing. This role focuses on optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring that engineering initiatives align with business goals. The manager will lead a team of engineers to drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the engineering team for my clients new product, including hiring, terminating, promoting, etc.
- Manage, design, and orchestrate the development, infrastructure, implementation and release activities related to the application.
- Create sprints, assign issues to developers, and implement and maintain timelines for development.
- Document features that will be available in release and coordinate a release date.
- Product solutions systems to meet identified requirements, including: Scalability, security, availability, maintainability, and extensibility.
- Coordinate with clients, including discovery, prospecting, updating, determining needs, and more.
- Review developer code to ensure quality to programming standards.
- Present technical capabilities to clients and prospects, and define how it will solve business needs.
- Work with technical team to ensure implementations are done in accordance with design and defined standards.
- Lead in design architecture and implementations of software applications, standards, and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering operations or project management.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, operations management, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, BPM, Oracle, and RDBMS.
- Experience with software design frameworks such as MVC and MVVM.
- Familiarity with web technologies including JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, XML, HTML, and CSS.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Proficient in using project management tools such as GIT, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
