Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the estimating team in preparing accurate and comprehensive bid packages.
- Oversee the analysis of project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, plumbing, ductwork, and controls.
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of estimating with project planning and execution.
- Utilize estimating software and tools such as AutoBid Integration and SysQue to enhance the estimating process.
- Monitor market trends and material pricing to inform cost assessments and maintain competitive bids.
- Validate data and analyze labor factors to provide reliable estimates and reporting to senior management.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to estimating staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategies for effective staff selection and team management, ensuring the alignment of skills with project needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to enhance collaboration and facilitate successful project outcomes.
- Oversee on-site involvement during the bidding process to gather accurate information and insights to improve estimates.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Chief Estimator in mechanical construction.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team management and development.
- Demonstrated expertise in estimating mechanical systems and contracting processes.
- Proficient in estimating software, including AutoBid Integration and SysQue.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, and market awareness regarding material cost trends and labor factors.

Salary : $125,000 - $200,000
