We are seeking a dynamic Group Manager - Environmental Planner/CEQA to lead our environmental planning team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and preparing CEQA and NEPA documents, conducting and overseeing impact analysis, report preparation, document review, business development, staff development and mentoring, and client care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary staff of environmental planners, biologists, archaeologists, paleontologists, air quality/greenhouse gas specialists, and noise specialists to identify project requirements and develop solutions to meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Prepare and manage complex environmental documentation for a wide variety of local and regional projects and manage on-call environmental services contracts.
- Lead and manage the environmental planning team, ensuring compliance with CEQA and NEPA regulations.
- Conduct impact analyses and provide expert guidance on environmental planning projects.
- Mentor junior environmental planners and support their professional development.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
- Prepare and review environmental documents, including EIRs and EISs.
- Engage in business development activities to grow the environmental planning practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on construction and infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Urban Planning or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in environmental planning and preparing high-quality CEQA/NEPA documents.
- 3 years of experience leading teams and managing multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience with NEPA, CEQA-Plus compliance, Caltrans requirements, resource agency (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Regional Water Quality Control Board) permitting.
- AICP certification or equivalent credentials preferred.

Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
