We are seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for large-scale civil construction projects, ensuring all costs are well accounted for and aligning with project specifications and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including site work, roads, bridges, and utilities.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities to prepare accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Utilize HCSS Heavybid and other scheduling software to produce efficient and effective estimates.
- Conduct risk analysis and provide recommendations for cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and revise estimates based on changes in project scope or market conditions.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and labor.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an estimator in heavy civil construction projects.
- Familiarity with DOT and Federal regulations related to construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and practices.
- Proficiency in HCSS Heavybid and scheduling software is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
