IL - Maintenance Technician, Industrial, Flexo, Printing, PLC

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

2nd Shift, Monday thru Friday (2-10pm - Non Rotating)

We are currently seeking a multi-craft Maintenance Technician, with a mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background, ideally someone from the packaging, Flexible Printing and/or other similar industries for an opportunity in the area near Elgin, IL.

PLEASE NOTE: This is for a 2nd shift, working M-F 2p-10pm, and the pay scale offered is in the range of $26-33/hour, depending on experience. Training will be on FIRST SHIFT before transferring to the open 2nd shift.

Role

In this role you will personally perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electronic, electrical and mechanical principles, including, but not limited to:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment on flexographic printing presses, bag machines, slitters, laminating equipment, etc.
• Install, start-up and shut-down equipment according to safety procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair other equipment, such as air compressors.
• Maintain required maintenance records for equipment.
  
  

The KEY points we are seeking from this hire/candidates include:

• Preventive Maintenance/PM scheduling and follow through ( this is important for second shift)
• Hands on ability/experience working to troubleshoot, and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Previous experience working with Printing equipment, presses, working with any specific Flexographic/ Flexo equipment is a bonus
• We do not need this person to be a lead, rather this is a hands on role.....They will not be supervising anyone. This is a hands on role, must keep themselves busy throughout the shift.
  
  

What You Need for this Position

The Qualified Applicant Will Bring With Them

• 3-5 years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, in a manufacturing environment ideally.
• Strong working knowledge and proven skills/experience in mechanical drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Good trouble shooting abilities, as well as excellent documentation, record keeping abilities.
  
  

Specific Experience With The Following Is Sought

• Troubleshooting, repair knowledge of machine tool operation, and other assorted hand tools
• Hands on use of measurement/calibration tools such as: micrometers (inside and outside), dial calipers, different types
• Mechanical and Fabrication experience, including blueprint reading, all types of welding (MIG, tig, wire, stick), pipefitting, fabrication including the use of oxygen/acetylene torches.
