Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Labor & Employment Partner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and employment law, with expertise in representing both management and employees in a variety of industries. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior attorney to take on a leadership role within our firm and build on our successful practice while serving a diverse and impressive client base.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client Representation & Counseling :
Provide strategic legal advice to clients on all aspects of labor and employment law, including discrimination, wage and hour laws, harassment, wrongful termination, and workplace safety.
Represent clients in labor disputes, grievance proceedings, and union negotiations.Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, policies, and handbooks.Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Litigation & Dispute Resolution :Lead complex litigation involving employment law issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination claims, wage / hour disputes, and employee benefits.
Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and courtroom proceedings.Manage cases from inception through trial or settlement, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.Business Development :Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm's labor and employment practice.
Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for new business.Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to enhance the firm's profile.Leadership & Team Development :Mentor and provide guidance to junior associates and other team members.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm to drive excellence in client service.Contribute to the development of internal training programs on labor and employment law topics.Thought Leadership :Stay current on evolving labor and employment laws and trends, providing thought leadership to clients and colleagues.
Publish articles, whitepapers, or blog posts, and speak at industry events to position the firm as a leading authority in the field.Qualifications :
Education : Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in labor and employment law, including extensive experience in litigation, counseling, and advising on employment matters.Bar Admission : Admission to the bar in Texas.Skills :Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.Proven ability to manage high-profile cases and work under pressure.Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.Business development acumen and client relationship-building skills.Strong negotiation skills and experience representing clients in hearings and trials.Preferred Qualifications :
Law firm or corporate in-house counsel experience.Experience with union negotiations, labor agreements, and collective bargaining.Proficiency in handling class action and multi-plaintiff litigation.Established book of business or client base is a plus.Benefits :
