Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Position Overview
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing bids, and collaborating with project managers to ensure budgets are met and projects are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications and drawings to understand the scope of work
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information
- Analyze subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
- Conduct take offs and quantity surveys of materials and labor
- Prepare and submit proposals and bids in accordance with project timelines
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and availability
- Assist in contract negotiations and finalize agreements with clients and subcontractors
- Track project costs against estimates and provide updates to management
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Experience with take offs and preparing detailed cost estimations
- Familiarity with project bidding processes and contract negotiations
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
