Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Food Safety Programs: Create and oversee food safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and audit the distribution center to ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Lead and Train Staff: Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety procedures and best practices.
- Monitor Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with food safety laws and guidelines.
- Investigate and Resolve Issues: Address any food safety complaints or incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest developments in food safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with management and staff to identify potential food safety risks and develop solutions.
- Prepare Reports: Document and report on food safety audits, incidents, and inspections.
- Manage Food Recalls: Establish and manage procedures for handling food recall incidents.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency procedures for food safety breaches.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management, preferably in a distribution center environment.
- Certifications: HACCP certification is required; additional certifications in food safety are a plus.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and other industry standards.
