Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Patent Associate to join our intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will work with clients to protect their innovations and inventions through the patent application process. This role involves conducting legal research, drafting patent applications, and ensuring compliance with USPTO regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on patent laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of patent applications with the USPTO.
- Draft and review patent applications and claims.
- Perform patent searches and analyze prior art.
- Consult with clients to understand their inventions and provide guidance on patentability.
- Collaborate with inventors and technical teams to gather necessary information for patent applications.
- Monitor and manage the status of pending patent applications.
- Support patent litigation efforts as needed.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
- Passed the Patent Bar exam or eligibility to take it.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law, particularly patent law.
- Experience in patent prosecution and/or litigation preferred.
- Technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
- Excellent drafting and technical writing skills.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Experience with machine learning and internet applications is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical devices and related patent issues is advantageous.

Salary : $160,000 - $220,000
