The Piping Takeoff Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with piping systems for various construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to provide comprehensive takeoffs and assessments that support project budgeting and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project blueprints, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work.
- Prepare accurate piping takeoffs and cost estimates for mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers during the preconstruction phase to discuss project requirements.
- Analyze and interpret technical documents and plans to identify potential risks and cost impacts.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, and project documentation for future reference.
- Provide support during the bidding process by ensuring all estimates are complete and submitted on time.
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing information and clarify project specifications.
- Proven experience as a piping estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, mechanical and plumbing concepts.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools for takeoffs.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
