Position Overview
The Preconstruction Manager will oversee the preconstruction phase of water and wastewater projects, ensuring that all project requirements are met and that the projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and subcontractors, to develop comprehensive estimates and project plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preconstruction process for water and wastewater projects, including preparation of estimates and schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project scope and requirements.
- Prepare and review cost estimates and budgets for water and wastewater projects.
- Manage the procurement process for materials and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
- Provide technical guidance and support during project design and development phases.
- Facilitate communication between all parties involved in the project to ensure alignment and project success.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in preconstruction management, specifically in water and wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge of estimating practices and methodologies related to water and wastewater facilities.
- Experience with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts and project delivery methods.
- Proficiency in project management software and estimating tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
