Position Overview
The Process Technician (Plastics) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the injection molding process, ensuring high-quality production while adhering to safety standards and operational efficiency. This role involves working closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mold setup, resin handling, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate injection molding machines with large tonnage capability.
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain product quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mold setup, including valve gates and hot runner systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of molds and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and maintain TS16949 standards.
- Train and support production staff on process-related tasks and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production metrics and process changes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Process Technician in the plastics industry, specifically with injection molding.
- Strong knowledge of mold setup, resin types, and processing techniques.
- Familiarity with TS16949 quality standards and documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex production issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
