The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process by effectively managing production schedules and ensuring optimal inventory levels. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and meet production goals while minimizing lead times and maximizing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet demand and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock of materials.
- Utilize ERP systems, particularly Epicor, to track production progress and manage scheduling.
- Analyze production processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure alignment between production capabilities and schedule requirements.
- Manage lead times effectively and communicate any potential delays to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to streamline operations and improve overall workflow.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum production processes and casting techniques.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
