Position Overview

This role ensures that all materials and workmanship meet the required standards set by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory bodies. The manager will lead a team of quality control technicians and work closely with project managers to ensure compliance with specifications and achieve the highest quality outcomes in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols for asphalt production and paving operations.
- Conduct inspections and materials testing to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Oversee sampling and testing of asphalt materials to assess quality and performance.
- Analyze test results and prepare detailed quality reports for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Department of Transportation (MDOT) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Train and supervise quality control staff in proper testing procedures and safety practices.
- Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- 2 years of experience in asphalt quality control or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of asphalt materials testing and quality assurance practices.
- Familiarity with DOT standards and regulations, particularly MDOT.
- Proficient in the use of testing equipment and quality analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in evaluating test results.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a quality control team.
- Certification in QA/QC methodologies is a plus.
- $100,000 - $130,000 base salary depending on experience
