Job Summary: As the Quality Director, you will direct and coordinate our company's quality activities to ensure products, processes, and services meet or exceed customers' expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Assure quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products.
- Establish quality and reliability standards by collaborating with management, production operators, technicians, engineers, and sales personnel.
- Develop raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, negotiating with suppliers, and devising testing methods and procedures.
- Implement in-process product inspection standards by analyzing manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
- Establish standards for the disposition of finished products by creating evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
- Interface, resolve, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions on customer complaints.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage certification processes and maintain necessary certifications for the organization.
- Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain quality KPI records for all manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with management to develop new product designs, engineering processes, and training methods.
- Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and assigning tasks and following up on results.
- Manage the quality assurance staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Supervise approximately 3 direct reports and 6 indirect reports.
- Self-starter, resourceful, and proven leader with excellent analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing and conducting internal and external audits.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 quality systems, auditing, analytical, and computer skills.
- BS degree in an appropriate discipline is preferred.
- Master's degree in quality management, engineering, MBA, or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, or other relevant certifications.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in quality.
- Knowledge and experience in IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience in lead-battery manufacturing preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project Management, and Analytics software.
- Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must possess a prominent level of reasoning capability, including the ability to prioritize and execute individual tasks with moderate direct supervision.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to travel internationally and visit customers as required.
- Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as needed to accomplish objectives and support responsibilities.
- Consistent and regular attendance is required.
- Travel may approach up to 25%.
