Job Title: Safety Manager

Location: Freeport, IL (on-site)

Salary: $65,000-$80,000/year

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety/Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of government safety/hygiene regulations, proficiency in working with local/state/federal regulatory agencies, and strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  
  

Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment. This role requires a proactive approach to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety across the organization.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
• Stay updated on safety regulations and best practices in the manufacturing industry.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety/Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of government safety/hygiene regulations.
• Proficiency in working with local/state/federal regulatory agencies.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions about safety improvements.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is preferred, but not required.
